What is the Biz Game?

Biz GameThe Biz Game is a series of games that can be used as a standalone instructional program or as practice sessions for a contest where mentored youth teams will create simple a board game based on a global business idea.

When used as a contest, the games produced by the teams are judged by a panel, consisting of both competing teams and business entrepreneurs. This judging panel will score each team based on individual team presentations of their business idea and by playing the games they have developed.

The aim of the Biz Game is to allow students to explore the brainstorming, strategy and planning involved in developing a global business. Business strategies such as analyzing strengths and weaknesses, perceiving the market, managing risks, and basic business concept planning, will be among the skills presented in four "game based" practice sessions developed within the Biz Game program format.

In these training sessions, students will be introduced to a business and game board design concept that applies to business strategy. Following the introduction to these concepts, the students will engage in a game that demonstrates the concepts presented. After the game play, each of the teams will engage in a post game discussion, meant to further expand their understanding of the concepts being introduced.
